The hostel was really clean and in such a good location - you have the Nougat train station and access to all the trams so you can get pretty much anywhere super quick. To get to the main train station is only a few stops away. I loved it. Only downfall was the lack of a real kitchen really, and there weren't any events or anything to get people in the hostel to know each other but I kinda get it because it's small so if you want a quiet place go here!
Location is good, central. Staff is friendly. But what I did not like , rooms are going through each other. People are coming ang going around and I could not sleep well. The floor is very old so you can hear every step. But overall value for the price is not bad. It is not cheap if you stay in a 6 bed room. I would expect better comfort.
Decent hostel. It is an apartment on the third floor of a buildind transformed into a hostel. Nothing really special about it. Kitchen only has a microwave, but coffe and tea are free. By the time we were there, only 1 shower was available.
A block away from one of the main railway stations in Budapest, easy to find and during my five days in the Hungarian capital I never purchased any metro, tram or bus ticket because it's such a walkable city. The wifi worked perfectly in the lobby area and in the dorm room. The bed was very comfortable and right next to the window with a view on the main street. I'm a very light sleeper but didn't mind the street noise with the open window. You can always close it. There's one big shower for everyone yet I never had to wait for my turn so it should be fine. The 2 euros breakfast is really worth it. Last but not least I mean it when I say the staff is genuinely helpful, always ready to accommodate the guests' requests and needs. As a solo traveler couchsurfing and staying at hostels for the past two months, this was really a decent place and a real deal for the price!
This hostel has positive and negative points, so I will describe them:
Positive: It is really cheap. Staff is excellent, they help us in everything we needed (they are bike friendly). Some rooms are huge, with air conditioning and the common area has a lot of facilities such a computer with free internet, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, hairdrier, etc. The accomodation is modest (a bit shabby) but enough. They have lift and free wify, and offers a very cheap breakfast (I didnt take it, so I dont know the quality). It is close to the center (20mins walking) and to some of the ruinpubs so popular in Budapest (we went walking too). Metro and tram stations are also really close.
Negative: Some rooms look to a very bussy street with trams, so if windows are open it is noisy, but ours had air conditioner. There is a kebah donstairs, so everything smells to kebah. The sofa of the common area is a bit dirty.
If you are not very exigent with the accomodation quallity and look for some place really cheap, this is a good choice.
Had an amazing time at this hostel ! The rooms were big and spacious and came with free towels which was a nice surprise the staff were very friendly and helpful make sure to ask them where the best places to go are. The location was perfect two minute walk to the river and beautiful views. Free walking tours are a great idea to give an insight into the city and it's history. Don't forget to check out the night life of this city !
If you travel long time, there is Laundry at hostel is a big chance ! :) Staff is very kind and helpfull. Plus hostel likes home :) Smart double rooms are very big. But there is a mistake about breakfast because it is not free but this is not important because there are many places around the hostel to have a breakfast. We liked so much atmosphere of hostel and staff
Liked: Breakfast was great and filling. Salami/hams. cheese tomato, bread, milk coffee tea.. (although with the door open, it attracts a lot of flies) ...being able to do laundry was nice. Although the mashing machine was kinda dirty. 2 out of the 3 staff we met were nice and helpful
Disliked: For the rating this hostel had when we booked, the bathroom was pretty dirty. it was sort of awkward because it felt like we were staying in someone's flat, whose bathroom was dirty! There's a lot of noise coming from the street, but you can close the window and turn on the a/c... our bed squeaked like crazy!
Liked: The staff was incredibly friendly and did all they could to make your stay wonderful. Not overly obtrusive, but still willing to give you all information that you could possibly want.
Disliked: Nothing
